World's Foremost Upscale Discounter of Fine Swiss Watches and Precious Jewelry Since 1969

This warranty covers the internal mechanism of a watch against any manufacturing defect under the terms outlined on the warranty certificate. Contemporary, upscale, European watches purchased for over $1,000 are covered by our this Lifetime Warranty.

Contemporary upscale European watches purchased for under $1,000 and vintage watches are covered under Capetown Watch and Diamond’s 1-Year Service Warranty

Guidelines to ensure Lifetime Warranty is not voided:

Quartz Watches: Servicing through Capetown Watch and Diamond’s Service Centers within 4-5 years. Every 1 to 2 years, the battery should be replaced.

Mechanical (Manual Winding) and Automatic (Self-Winding): Servicing through Capetown Watch and Diamond’s Service Centers every 3-4 years. Our technicians can check to see any sign of a potential problem or undue wear (i.e. leaking seals & gaskets). This gives us the ability to spiff up the exterior of your timepiece and ensure that proper lubrication is available to prevent any future problems which might otherwise occur.

There will be a nominal charge for this service, depending on the complexity of your timepiece.

Among our staff and advisory board you will find some of the world’s most celebrated horologists, including internationally trained, second and third generation, master watchmakers. Several have held horology’s most coveted credential, from Switzerland’s finest manufacturers, that of “Certified Watchmaker”. As our client you will not only benefit from the skills of these caring technicians, but also from our up-to-the-minute product knowledge, modern horological equipment, and comprehensive inventory of manufacturer’s original replacement parts, as well as time-tested, reasonably priced, generic alternatives.

The Capetown Watch and Diamond Service Center Advantage

Whether it is a cash repair or covered under-warranty we will turnaround your repair as quickly as possible. Please note: In some instances, it may be required to order parts from the manufacturer or another source that may cause minor delays. We will diligently pursue the company sending the parts to ensure it is completed as quickly as possible.

In an unprecedented move, Capetown Watch and Diamond will compensate you for the shipping charges on all under-warranty repairs providing you call us prior to shipping to obtain a UWRA# (Under Warranty Return Authorization #) and detailed return shipping instructions. (NOTE: International customers will be reimbursed for the cost of shipping, excluding any customs/duty fees) To the best of our knowledge, this convenient service is unavailable from any other watch company. But that is the Capetown Watch and Diamond’s way that you’ll come to expect.

In the event that you should ever want to sell your watch, we offer the ability to transfer your warranty for $175, as long as Capetown Watch and Diamond’s Repair Facility has maintained the watch according to the suggested factory specified periodic schedule noted below under scheduled maintenance. This will give your buyer peace of mind and help you sell your watch faster.

Here is what is NOT covered by our Lifetime Warranty:

  • Schedule Maintenance – This service must be performed on a periodic basis by Capetown Watch and Diamond’s technicians in order to keep the watch under warranty. The scheduled maintenance includes disassembly, cleaning, ultrasonic lubrication of internal parts, reassembly, oiling, adjustment of the timing system, replacement of the seals and gaskets, and a water pressure testing. The best lubricants made today do not guarantee the viscosity of their oils for more than two and a half years. If you live in a dry climate (e.g. Tucson), you should service your watch more often. The cost for the scheduled service is very competitive.
  • Normal Wear and Tear – Exterior scratches, nicks, dents, bracelet stretching, scratched or damaged crystals, etc. Furthermore, some movement and case parts such as the mainsprings, wheels, stems, tubes, gaskets, etc. tend to wear down and need to be periodically replaced.
  • Obvious Misuse and Abuse – Damages caused by dropping your watch on any hard surface, cement, tile, etc. will not be covered as well as any unauthorized alterations, manipulation or repairs.
  • Water Damage – Most watches are NOT waterproof. They are billed as Water Resistant or Pressure Proof. For more information on this, see the repair section of our website.
  • External Damage – Any damage to ANY external part of the watch, including the case, bracelet, crown, crystal, strap, clasp, buckle etc.
  • Failure to adhere to Capetown Watch and Diamond’s scheduled warranty required – If a watch has not been returned for its scheduled maintenance or service, as prescribed by Capetown Watch and Diamond, its warranty will become void and invalid.
